The Iranian Association for Environmental Assessment (IAEA) was officially established in 2003 (Sept.8th) to assist with protection of the environment as well as sustainable development in Iran.
The Association was funded by known national figures who were both knowledgeable and experienced in the field of environmental impact assessment. IAEA started with the aim of creating a network of experts, graduate and post-graduate students and other members of the community who were interested in sharing and exchanging their experience on environmental impact assessment and environmental assessment, at national and international levels. In 2012, IAEA had 250 members (mainly experts and graduate students from the Environment field). While organizing many forums, seminars and workshops, IAEA has been successful in establishing its niche in national development planning by organizing Annual National Conferences. In addition, IAEA has been actively promoting environmental awareness and technical expertise by publishing two types of journals (Extension and Scientific journals).
The biggest achievement of IAEA is that it is the only network which connects so many experts at national level and through this network, it has been able to build up the knowledge in the field of EIA and environmental assessments in Iran.
IAEA is a non-profit, non-governmental and non-political organization registered under No……which runs based on membership fees and volunteerism.
